Titel: Optimization methods and applications

Abstract In this talk, I will give an overview of my research on optimization methods and selected applications, including radiation therapy and telecommunications. I will try to motivate the research and try to convey what aspects I find most fascinating. In particular, I will illustrate the close connection between applications and fundamental research. The style of the talk will be rather informal.
