Titel: Some considerations regarding disability insurance, with an applied view

Abstract

Life insurance depends heavily on biometric assumptions. In this seminar I will give an overview of assumptions of life insurance in general and especially assumptions in disability insurance. I will present some of the results from a big disability study carried out by the Swedish Research Council (FTN). This study is carried out with data from 16 different insurance companies in Sweden. A new graduation formula for the so-called terminating function is constructed using Kaplan-Meier technique (Nelson-Aalen technique is also considered). We we also discuss the concept of discrimination when calculating premiums.
